Early Easter Pictures

Although Easter is not for a couple of weeks still, Nico had some pictures taken with some soft, furry bunnies! Nico was very curious about the bunnies; however, he probably thought they were strange looking dogs since they are the only furry creatures he has seen thus far. I am pretty sure that Nico knew his Mommy had high expectations for him to show off his big, beautiful smile for the bunny pictures. Nico, being his daddy's son, showed his stubborn streak and decided to do his own little thing which did not include smiling. While there were no smiles during the photo shoot, I did receive tons of Nico smiles as soon as we got home. So here are some bunny picture shots and also quite a few that I took at home which captured my baby boy's smile. Look for more Easter and spring pictures to come in the next couple of weeks or so as we more activities planned.

Congratulations to Daddy!

Recently Ed was recognized for all of his hard work and effort he puts in at his job by being selected as the most outstanding performer locally for his job. His bosses think he does a good job and thought he deserved a litle more recognization, so they nominated him to compete for a national recogonition award. Well, today we found out that he has been selected and has won this very prestigious national award! This is quite an honor and very well deserved. Ed works extremely hard and always goes above and beyond the call of duty in what he does. At the end of April he will be formally presented with the award at a national conference. Nico and Mommy are so proud of Daddy and his big accomplishments!

Latest and Greatest

Here are some recent and of course, extremely cute pictures of our son!

Hi-ho hi-ho its off to work we go

With Nico being just a week shy from being 4 months old, my little man and I parted ways today from the morning until late afternoon. In other words, today was Mommy's first day back to work and Nico's first day at school. Mommy was a little emotional his morning when dropping him off, but it definitely gave me peace of mind that I was able to watch him on the Kiddie Kam while sitting in my office.

I missed my angel so much today, but I knew he was in good hands and that he was going to reap the benefits of being in school a such a young age. Nico has already taken notice of the other kids. He smiles and coos directly at some of the other little ones, and the funny thing is that some of the other babies coo right back to Nico. It is just so cute and hilarious all at the same time!

Anal mothers love their children to have anal teachers and one thing I really like about Nico's school is that everyday his teachers send home a little report card. One of the many reasons we put ourselves on the waiting list when I was only 16 weeks pregnant! The daily report card indicates how his day was, how many naps he took and for how long, when and how much he ate, how many diaper changes Nico had and what skills he worked on. Nico's teachers reported that he was a joy to have around and he did quite a lot of talking and smiling with them. He tuckered himself out so much with all of the new experiences that he took three naps today!

Just 10 weeks left until summer vacation when Nico and I are home together again during the day. Until then, Nico is going to learn lots, pick up some social skills, and make some friends.

Here is Nico at school in the same bouncer we have at home! Familiarity is a great thing.

Here is a picture of Nico's school bed and you can see where he was napping earlier.

Rolling Over

Nico is now able to roll over from his tummy to his back! I am so proud of my strong little guy. It took him a couple of minutes to flip himself over and once he did, there was some crying that occurred. Nico must have scared himself because it was a delayed cry which started after he realized he was no longer on his tummy anymore. The trick is for him to tuck his arm under his body, and that is difficult for him to do. Hopefully, with some more practice Nico will be able to perfect his rolling like everything else. I snapped a couple of pictures, but have yet to capture the new trick on video. I will post one as soon as I can.

Three Month Check Up

Nico had his three month check up appointment, where he met his new pediatrician. We decided to make a change due to some personal conflicts and after meeting Nico's new doctor, we are so pleased with our decision. Our little boy isn't so little anymore. He now weighs 14.3 lbs and is 23.2 in long. He is in the 54th percentile for his weight and the 11th percentile for his height. In addition to the couple of vaccinations Nico had to have, it seems that our little man, although very healthy, appears to have some acid reflux. He has been having some feeding issues that last month or so, in that he has a hard time eating more than an oz or two without spitting the bottle out of his mouth or batting it away from his face. The suggestion? Nico is now eating rice cereal mixed in with his formula at night in order to help his food digest and sleep better. Another stepping stone for this little tyke!

Here is a picture of Nico downing and greatly enjoying his first helping of cereal.

There's always time for friends

Nico has been quite a popular guy the last couple of months. It seems that we have social outings planned at least three times a week! Before Nico came along, I never thought I would be able to get out so often with such a little one, but it is true what they say, "Practice makes perfect." The first time Nico and Mommy went on an outing, it took three hours to get out of the house. When I thought we were ready to go, Nico would be hungry again! Now, we can get out of the house, fed, dressed, showered and with a packed diaper bag in an hour! Talk about progress on Mommy's part.

Since Nico has been such a busy boy, I thought I would share some more pictures of him with his friends!

Don't worry, Nico is not really being punched by Matthew! But it sure made for a cute picture.

Kudos to Big Sis!

Nico is a very lucky boy to have his big sis in his life. The two of them have really connected and it is adorable to watch Amber and Nico together. Bam truly expresses her love towards Nico, and in return, Nico seems to have really have taken to her. He recognizes her, and more often than not, will smile and sometimes coo when he sees her. Not only have the two of them formed their own relationship, but I have to give props to Amber for helping me with him. She has been super in taking the initiative in changing a diaper, holding, feeding, burping and walking Nico. The best part about it is that it does not appear to be a chore for her, but instead quality time spent with her little brother. Hopefully their relationship will continue to grow as they get older, and Nico will always be able to count on his big sissie to be there for him.

Here are some recent pictures of Bam and Nico.

More Milestones

I feel so blessed not only to have Nico in my life, but also because he is such a healthy and happy baby! It is amazing to watch the progress he makes and to see more and more of his personality come forward. I have been told by many that they have never heard a baby coo, babble and now giggle as much as Nico does, especially in response to me talking to him. He is not only extremely talkative, but also full of gorgeous smiles and surprises.

Lately, Nico has shown some new talents, one of which is blowing spit bubbles. It seems that Nico has realized that he possesses this new talent and likes to show his abilities off frequently. Another new feat Nico has learned is moving his feet as if in a walking motion. When putting his full weight on his legs, which he has been doing for over a month now, he slowly puts one foot in front of another. At this point I would not be surprised if Nico decided to walk before crawling. Although he is not a big fan of tummy time, Nico has been able to scoot on his tummy and do mini push ups for quite some time now, so hopefully crawling will come in his own time.

Additionally, Nico has also been using his strong muscles to try to lift himself up when laying down. He is able to life his head, neck and shoulders up as if he is trying to sit up. Finally, Nico's latest and greatest milestone is that he now turns his head towards sounds, such as someone talking, the television, or the dogs barking. Wow, I can only imagine how much more Nico will have accomplished in the next month.

Here are some recent cute pictures and videos of our little man! So enjoy, because I just can't seem to get enough of him!

3 months old!

Unbelievable! Nico is 3 months old today. He has made some amazing changes in three months and continues to do so weekly, and sometimes even daily. Nico's personality is really starting to shine through and I must say that he is truly a joy to be around. He really enjoys being stimulated with toys and having interaction with people, especially Mommy, who he has become very attached to. Nico's frequent smile is the most beautiful sight to both Mommy and Daddy and his now constant babbling is music to our ears. Nico has also met so many developmental milestones in these past three months, many of which have been accomplished ahead of schedule. This of course makes Mommy and Daddy so proud! I can just imagine where he is going to be at in three months from now. To celebrate his three month old birthday, Nico received some new developmental toys! Since Nico enjoys standing up and putting his full weight on his legs as well as being bounced around, Mommy got him both a stationary and a door frame jumper. Although Nico is still too short for the stationary jumper and does not completely understand the concept of jumping up and down, I am sure with practice Nico will learn and master both jumper toys. Now he has something to strive towards.

Here are some cute pictures of Nico in his new jumpers!
