Christmas in September

It is really difficult for little Nico-man to say good-bye to Gigi when our visits are over.  Crying, pouting, and scheming on how to get her to stay or move here are all part of the process leading up to taking Gigi to the airport. However, Gigi has come up with a plan to put a smile on Nico and Natalee's faces....sending a big box of toys once she gets home to us!  The large box arrived on Monday, just a little over a week since she left, and these two kids dug into the package like it was Christmas!  Nico and Natalee got a Jesse doll from Toy Story to share, Nico got a Captain America that throws his shield, an Iron Man water bottle and a DVD, while Natalee got her first tea set and a puppy and a kitten both who make noises.  Jesse quickly joined Woody, Buzz and the rest of the crew, Captain America's shield starting flying around and Natalee, her puppy and her kitten all had their first tea party!  What a wonderful idea Gigi!  It certainly made for a fun day!

Soccer Game #3

Mommy tackled Nico's 3rd soccer game solo!  I planned ahead and had the small DVD player charged for Natalee so she would be occupied during the game and instead of chasing her down, I would be able to watch Nico play the game. It worked pretty well.  I did not take into account that the sun would make it hard to see the DVD player, but Natalee managed pretty well. For the majority of the game she sat in Nico's little Buzz chair, watched Wreck it Ralph and eat cheese its. Nico on the other hand played like a pro out on the field.  He did hit a few bumps in the road at the beginning when the other team scored a few times.   He actually took it pretty hard and began crying and pouting, but after a pep talk he shook it off, got out there and scored 2 goals.  I have to brag that he also ran down the field on his own to block the other team's goal net!  Major props to Nico for thinking ahead!

Soccer Game #2

Here are pictures from Nico's 2nd soccer game!  He again scored a goal for his team!  He is doing a great job of turning the ball around and getting it back down the field for his team to score goals. I am so impressed with his skills!

One of the fun things Upwards Soccer does before each game, is that each child's name is called and they run through the tunnel while people cheer them on and clap.  It is pretty cute!

Daddy practicing again with Nico.

Natalee wanted to run through the tunnel too!

Pretty girl watching her big brother play soccer...she would much rather be out there with him!

And he's off!!!!

Meanwhile, Natalee got bored pretty fast, and decided she wanted to walk along all the hay bales!  Yay for Gigi being there and entertaining her.

And score!!!!!!!!!
