Spontaneous Trip to Sugar Land

I mentioned in the previous blog that we were at Gigi's house last week visiting. The kids and I had a great time! I can say this was especially true because Natalee and I had just gotten over having a stomach bug. Luckily it was a bug that Nico did not catch. We drove down Tuesday evening after I got off of work and stayed until Sunday.  I know that I might think twice before I decide to drive down again in the evening or at night.  It was a much more difficult drive with the kids being tired and cranky from the day.  I did what I could to keep the crying, whining and complaining down to a minimum....I listened to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse songs for over an hour and a half!  Yikes, what a headache!  Our Sunday drive back home was a piece of cake and all three of use were very excited to see Daddy who came home the same day from his own trip.

We ate a lot of really great food, and went somewhere new and interesting everyday to get our tummies full.  I was able to catch up with some old friends from high school and college, as well as spend a little time with Tara and her hubby Mike.  Gigi and I also had so much fun doing too much shopping!
Nico and Gigi one day while we were at lunch.

Everyday we had beautiful weather and ate outside as often as possible.

Mommy and Baby Nat-Nat during lunch one day!

We walked on over to the Town Center Square since the Christmas tree was already up!  Nico loved running around the decorations.

 My precious babies saying "Cheese."

Here is the huge Christmas Tree in Town Square...I was laying down to take the picture.

"Who's a pretty girl?"

We met up for lunch with Tara and Mike at my new favorite restaurant, Amazon Grill in Houston!  So yummy for my tummy!

Sibling love!

She Did it!

Natalee finally crawled!!!!  And when I say crawled, I do not mean, one scoot, but instead she moved herself on her hands and knees across the floor with purpose!  Nico, Natalee and I spent the majority of last week at Gigi's house for a visit while Daddy was out of town and this morning we were packing up the car to head back home when Natalee decided to shock everyone by crawling for the first time!  At 9 1/2 months, Natalee has crawled.  Just like her brother, she crawls for food first; Puffs was the snack of choice for both. Look out world....here she comes!

Here is the video of her first crawling at Gigi's house.

Just to make sure if wasn't a fluke I made sure Natalee could still crawl once we got home.

Just some cuties!

Just some recent cute pictures of some beautiful and cute kids!

My babies one morning....you can see that we were in the
middle of getting everyone dressed!

I walked into Natalee's room one night to find her sitting up in her crib for the first time!
She was so proud of herself and was squealing with delight!

Little Miss thinks she is so big standing there!

This is Nat-Nat's new chair that Big Brother and Daddy brought home from the store.
She loves it and is on it everyday.

Daddy make a treasure hunt for Nico to go on one morning while I was at work.
Nico had a treasure map which led him through various clues to find each letter of his name.
Then he had to find the "X" marks the spot.

He found all the letters and the treasure....he very own "gold-de-bloom!"

Soccer Games # 7 & 8

These are pictures from the last two of Nico's soccer games.  One game was just this past Thursday, and was a make up game from previously in the season when we had a game canceled due to rain.  The last game was yesterday morning.  Nico did an especially great job in his last game....I am thinking that since he knew there was a trophy waiting for him at the end of the game, there was a little more motivation to play harder.  Now that soccer is over for now, it is time to focus on the the holidays and some special birthdays coming up!

Daddy was hanging and helping Nico while he played
goalie during the Thursday night game.

It is hard to believe that I am a soccer mom!  I love this kid and
enjoyed watching him out on the field.

The last "Little Monsters" cheer!

Presenting....Nico, the soccer player!  So proud of him!

Soccer game #6

Nico's soccer season is winding down.  He actually only has one game left as well as the team party.  These are pictures from last weekend's soccer game.  It was a chilly one, but Nico was prepared with his new Angry Bird hat and some gloves.  He did a great job of playing out on the field, and when Nico played goalie, he blocked 3 shots, keeping the other team from scoring! Way to go Nico!

Halloween Night!

When you think of Halloween, many people might think of scary monsters, witches, ghouls, ghosts, or goblins; however, this was not the case for me.  This year, I thought of pixie dust, Never Land, and pirates.  Each of us dressed up as a character from Peter Pan or the spin off Jake and the Never Land Pirates.   It began as Nico wanting to dress up as Jake, which led me to locating a Tinker Bell costume for Natalee.  I became Peter Pan and Daddy emerged as Captain Hook (and a very good one too, if I may add).   We started the evening off by going to the costume parade at Primrose.  Nico got to see his friends all dressed up and show his own get-up off.  The after Daddy got home from work, he pulled the wagon out the garage and Jake and Tink were loaded in for some neighborhood trick-or-treating.   After Nico's bag became full of more candy than a mother wants her child to eat, we headed home.  Until bed time, Jake assisted Peter Pan in handing out candy to the scary ghouls, princesses, super heroes and witches that came to our door trick-or-treating.

Halloween Prep

Halloween prep time!  On Halloween Eve, our family carved pumpkins; well, at least Mommy and Daddy did.  For the third year, Nico tried to help pull the innards out of the pumpkin, but once again the smell and texture of the seeds got to him.  Nico ended up with his head in the toilet!  Poor kid, at least he tried.

My own two little pumpkins sitting next to our carved Halloween pumpkins.

On Halloween day Nico and I had lots of fun activities planned.   First we made spider cupcakes with eyes, little legs and all.

My proud little boy of the spider cupcakes we made.

Here is Nico in the middle of eating one of the spider cupcakes,

After the spider cupcakes, we made pumpkin rice krispie treats.  They were so simple and fun to make.

After all the baking was done, Nico did some pumpkin painting. He had quite a few little pumpkins and two medium sized pumpkins that needed his artistic touch.  He had so much fun decorating his pumpkins....Natalee looked on as Nico had his fun.  Next year, she will be able to get her hands dirty and do some painting too.
