Fun Fall Pictures
Months ago, back in June, I came across a great Groupon deal from Sear Portraits and snagged it. Today, I "cashed" it in! The kids looked precious and both cooperated so well, although Nico did want to be the photographer and was able to sneak in pushing the button a few times when the photographer wasn't looking! I love my beautiful babies! Happy Fall and Halloween everyone!

Soccer Game #3
Last Saturday was Nico's 3rd soccer game, but it was the 4th scheduled game. The 3rd scheduled game was rained out. This particular game ended up falling on the first cold day of the season and we could feel the cold front coming in the evening before at soccer practice. The wind picked up quite a bit and during the game it was 50 degrees out. Timing is everything, and the individual and team pictures were that morning before the game which meant Nico being outside in the cold for a bit longer. Daddy had just gotten home the night before and was the one who took Nico to the game while Natalee and I stayed at home in the nice warm house.
Daddy said that when Nico wasn't playing, despite having a coat and having two shirts on, he was holding the little man to keep him warm. Nico had another chance to play goalie, which he loves doing, and Daddy helped out Nico by standing next to the net while Nico was there to direct him and how to play this position. Thanks to Daddy's help, Nico was able to keep the other team from scoring during his time of being the goalie. Daddy also told me that during the game Nico fell down a couple of times, but after a quick spit from Daddy on the knee (yes, you read the right), Nico was able to get back out in the game. Overall, it sounds like it was a good game...I was sad to miss a game, but glad to have been able to keep Natalee from being in the cold and from missing her morning nap.
Here are some pictures the Daddy took of Nico during the game:

New Pad
Tomorrow marks a week since we moved into our "new pad." Ed and I decided to lease a house in the nearby vicinity of the house we just sold. I did not want to move too far away from Primrose, we, of course needed to stay close to the base and it is a plus to not be too far from the school where I primarily work. When I was looking around for a house, I knew this one was it as soon as I drove up and parked in the driveway. I liked the neighborhood and the location of the house on the street; the house is a one story, which is what I was looking for this time around and it is about 1000 sq ft smaller than our previous house. The last house was great for us for so many years, but once the twins moved out, it became too much house for us. It is nice to be in smaller quarters. It feels like we are able to be closer together within the house even when we are each doing our own thing and this will help us have more family time.
The move went pretty smoothly and most of the boxes are unpacked one week after the move, which is not too bad. Little things here and there still need to be organized and there will probably be another trip to Good Will since 3000 sq ft of "stuff" does not fit too well into a house of 2000 sq ft. Overall, we are settling in pretty well and I am excited to see how everything looks when it is all said and done. Too bad we will probably have to pack everything back up again and move in less than a year.

The boys relaxing and reading a story in the big chair after the move.

Moving On
September turned out to be quite the crazy month for our family! Over Labor Day weekend our house, which has been on the market since the middle of May, had multiple showing, one of which turned out to be the family we had been waiting for. This family was also a military one with little children and they seemed like a right fit for our house. Today is October 5th and just today I closed on the house! We are no longer home owners! In a month's worth of time, we packed everything up in our 3000 square foot house plus the garage, found a new place to live, and along with all this house selling business, completed lots of paperwork. To top the craziness, Ed had to be TDY for those last two weeks before the move. He came home in between trips for 2 days, but was working, and then headed back out again. So packing, organizing, finding a new home and making all the arrangements was solely up to me! I can say that I am very glad that I can finally say all of this is behind us and now we only have lots of unpacking, hanging of pictures and organizing to do in the new place.
Saying good bye to the old house, was a little emotional for me. When I went over there to clean the place up for the new owners I knew it was the last time I would be there in my very first house. Lots of memories were made in this house....lots good, and sadly lots bad too, but overall for me it is the good memories that stick out to me.
When I look at the front door, I see Ed, Amber EJ and I bringing Nico, the baby I longed for for so long, home for the first time. When I look at the nursery I can still see both of my precious babies getting diaper changes while smiling up at me, sitting and playing on the floor and sweetly sleeping in their cribs. When I look at the master bathroom I see both of my miracles getting their first baths on the counter top piled with towels. When I look at the pantry I see Nico standing on his stool trying so hard to reach his cookies and when I look down the long hallway downstairs, I see Nico smiling and proudly walking around using his car walker. When I look in the kitchen I can still see Nico in his cute footie PJs, talking on the phone to Daddy in his Nico language. I laugh to myself when I look where Nico's highchair was and think of him digging into his first birthday smash cake and the amount of smashed Puffs that were stuck to the living room floor after his first birthday party. When I look at the mater bedroom, I can see Natalee spending many night sleeping with Mommy and Daddy while being sick with RSV. When I look at the breakfast nook, I can see all of us sitting around having many family dinners, including Christmas and Thanksgiving feasts.
As I slowly walked out of the house for the last time, I shed a few tears as I remembered so many wonderful moments. This house will always be my first house as an adult and the first home for both of my children. I pray the next family will make as many wonderful memories as we did.

More soccer--Game 2
Nico's second soccer game was this past Saturday. He was in the first group of kiddos to play out on the field, which may have helped Nico in the game overall. He did pout just a little at the beginning of the game when he fell while trying to get the ball; however, Mommy had to use some tough love and make him go straight back out there since he was not hurt. Once Nico got the hint that he was not able to come get Mommy-love whe he was supposed to being out on the field, Nico seemed to step up a little and was able to focus on the game a little more.
Nico also had his first chance at playing goalie in the game which was pretty cool for him. He seemed excited when the coach picked him for the position. He blocked a few balls from coming in and then of course at one point helped the other team kick the ball in! He was itching to kick a goa and just did not care who it was forl! Nico said he had a great time and I am very proud of him! We will see what happens in the game this week!
8 Months Old
Natalee is 8 months old today! Each month on the 23rd, I have really focused on Natalee's monthly milestones, but today was crazy and chaotic and I didn't really have a moment to celebrate Natalee's age. We have so much happening right now in the adventures of Nico and Natalee to include Daddy coming and going in and out of town for work, and some other major changes that we are not ready to publicize or blog about yet. However, at the end of the day, after Natalee had her bath, I quickly dressed her in one of her precious smocked dresses and snapped a few pictures.
Here is what has been happening with our Baby Nat-Nat:
Night time sleeping: Since being dx with reflux and getting with right rx to help her, the coughing Natalee had been suffering with for months finally let up, allowing her to begin sleeping better through the night. Natalee was so used to waking up every 3-4 hours coughing and feeding her was one of the only ways to calm her down from a fit, so it has only been in the last month in which Natalee has begun sleeping longer periods of time. Her pink bunny lovie and of course pacis help her self soothe if she wakes up during the night. Natalee goes to bed around 7:15 every night, and will let me know when it is that time.
Nap time sleeping: Natalee typically takes two naps a day. She wakes up around 7:30 or 8:00 am and after breakfast and playtime, she is ready for a nap at 10:30 am. Usually Natalee will sleep for about two hours during this morning nap. Then at around 3:30 or 4:00 pm, Natalee is ready for her second nap of the day, this one, however, is a bit shorter, lasting usually only hour long.
Eating: Before getting the reflux under control, Natalee had a difficult time eating her baby food. She seemed to enjoy the taste of the food, but after only a few bites she would refuse anymore. Now, this little girl eats quite bit during all three of her meals before blowing and spitting at me (to indicate she is all done). We are working on "more" and "all done" sign during meal times.
Play time: Natalee loves her purple nubby sensory ball. She shrieks and hits at it until the ball has rolled out of reach. She also still enjoy her Jumperoo during down time. The xylophone and the play cell phone are a couple of other favorites.
Overall, Natalee is a super happy and joyful baby girl. She loves clapping now, is trying to imitate me on signing for "more," no doubt knows her name, and trying hard to move herself around. I have seen Natalee scoot herself backward, but there have been times when I set her down and minutes later when I look in on her, she is three feet over to the side and facing a different direction! It is just a matter of time until this little wiggle worm is crawling around getting into trouble!
