Ford's Theater and Air and Space Museum
While Pops was here for a visit we rode the train into DC and got our dose of history and educational activities in. It is pretty neat being able to take my own kids to these places that I once visited with my Dad when I was a child. I love seeing Nico enjoy learning and asking questions about wherever we are! Ford's theater was awesome and of course, so was the Air and Space Museum was as well. Nico was extremely excited and awe when we walked through the doors at the Air and Space Museum. He couldn't believe his eyes in all the rockets, spaceships and airplanes he was seeing!!! Natalee was just thrilled with the gift shop, where there were astronaut Hello Kitties and bouncy balls that light up when rolled or bounced! In fact she found 2 balls and a Hello Kitty which there was no prying away from her hands.
You can only take close up pictures of the actual balcony area that President Lincoln was sitting when he was shot and killed through the plastic window that is there.
Halloween Night
Halloween night started off a little rocky with Natalee being pretty cranky and moody; however she changed her tune pretty fast once we got out of the house and started down the street. We had the wagon with us, but both kids preferred to walk around. Natalee looked so big carrying her basket around...in fact she would not let anyone else carry it, even when it got heavy with all the candy! Natalee followed Nico up and down, to and from each door or driveway, she learned to help herself to any bowls of candy sitting around and quickly gained an understanding that the goal of this activity was to fill the basket with as much candy as physically possible. Both kiddos did great, had a blast and were exhausted when we came home!
