Getting ready for the summer!
Nico has been up to a lot lately. From becoming enthralled by airplanes flying around in the sky to playing around in our renovated backyard. Gigi has been in town for over a week and with her came an great surprise-Nico's very own house! This past weekend, Daddy set up the backyard, which is now full of fun things to do. Nico now has a new pool and canopy for the coming hot summer days and a great playhouse, which comes equipped with a functional doorbell and pretend phone! Nico now wants to spend ALL of his time outside, and will bring us his shoes and socks repeatedly throughout the day to communicate that it is time to go back out...I guess we should invest in some lawn furniture for us grown ups.

Trinity Park
This past weekend Nico and Mommy ventured out to the Trinity Park for some fun in the sun! On Saturday I introduced Nico to ducks and geese at the duck pond. They were walking all around, not caring about the people in the park and appeared to have their own agenda. Nico found the geese, in particular, to be quite fascinating...that is until they got pretty close to us. Then all of a sudden, the little guy was wanting me to pick him up. We had a great time enjoying the gorgeous weather we had and making some memories.
On Sunday, little Matthew and our new friend Amber B. joined Nico and Mommy in returning to the Trinity Park. This time we were set on jumping on the Forest Park mini train to feel the wind in our hair (literally it was windy).

Happy Easter!
With spring and warmer weather here, flowers are in bloom, the smell of freshly cut grass is in the air and the birds are out and about again. Easter is a special time of year. Just as spring time brings about new life all around us, Easter is a reminder that we too, have new life through Christ. “For God SO LOVED the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).” My heart breaks when I think of what Jesus had to go through in order to shed his blood for our sins; yet, my heart also soars when I think about how much He really loves me! As Nico gets older, I am going to enjoy teaching him more about the love of Christ and the sacrifice God made to save us.
Last Easter, Ed and I took Nico to an egg hunt, but being that Nico was only 4 months old at the time, there was not much he could do but look cute and smile at us so that we could get some pictures. This year, however, on Saturday we took Nico to an egg hunt with his own basket in hand and all. Once he was shown what he was supposed to do, Nico was all over it, and got four eggs!
On Easter Sunday, Nico was dressed to impress in the cutest suit and tie outfit! He was surprised by the presents the Easter Bunny left him, to include a big bouncy ball, which has been a huge hit! We went to church and had a wonderful morning worshipping God in all his glory. Then later that afternoon after a really long nap, Nico, with a little help from Mommy, did some Easter egg cookie decorating. Next year, we will be attempting to dye eggs, and I am already looking forward to it!

Dancing Nico
Nico loves music, there is no doubt about that! Here is short video clip of the little man dancing in circles to one of his favorite show's theme song, Imagination Movers! I ran out of memory right after Nico lost his balance and fell, which ended the dancing session. Enjoy the cuteness!

Spring is in the air
With spring in the air, I have tried to give Nico the opportunity be outside whenever I can. It does help that the little man absolutely LOVES being outside, so running around out back, playing at the park, take a ride in the wagon or just taking a walk to the mailbox have been the highlights of the day. Here are some cute pictures we snapped from just hanging out in the backyard.
