Thanksgiving 2010

Thanksgiving has come and gone, and Nico's birthday is now right around the corner! Yikes! Ed's family, including one of his cousins and his family came into town for Thanksgiving, along with Ed's mom, Nana and EJ, Nico's brother. Nico was a little overwhelmed by so many people being in the house and the fact that noise level went up about three notches. Nico is definitely my kid, because there were times when he just became over stimulated by the typical chaos of family get togethers and needed some quite time in order to calm down. Overall, however, the holiday went well, the food was good and we all survived. Nico (and his mommy) was happy when the week was over and he was able to get back into his routine at school. Before our week long break, I was actually worried that Nico would have a difficult time Monday morning going back to school, but he proved me wrong. Monday morning came and Nico happily joined his friends and his teachers in the classroom, waving good bye and blowing kisses to Mommy and Daddy.

Here are some pictures of Thanksgiving 2010.

Moos!

With family in town for the holidays, we went down to the historic Stockyards to wander around. Twice a day, there is a cattle run that comes down the street for the tourists to get a feel for the area. Nico has been and seen this in the past, but now that "moos" are one of his favorite animals, he was even more excited about the event! Here is a video of the longhorns coming through the streets and Nico's reaction.

Primrose Pictures

Typically school pictures are the ugly backgrounds, mundane, sit and smile kind, but not at Primrose. At Primrose School, a professional photographer is brought in and pictures are taken while the kids are having fun on the playground, running around and just doing their own thing. I have to say...my kid is so beautiful! He has the bluest, most clear eyes and a smile meant for an angel.

Two Year Old Pictures!!!

How has it almost been two years already??? Our little man is going to be 2 years old soon, and it is so hard to believe. I have been looking through pictures from the past year and it is amazing how much Nico has changed in such a short amount of time. I am so incredibly blessed to have such an angel as my child. I would not change a single thing about my joyful, blue eyed, blonde haired boy.

This past week we had Nico's professional 2 year old pictures taken, and I must say that it was a challenge. Funny, because I thought his 1 year old pictures were difficult since he was mobile, but now, not only was Nico moving all over the place, but he had his own agenda on what he wanted to do with all the props in the studio. Thankfully the photographer had gummy bears, which is how we got through the session with some great pictures. Here are a few more of my favorites.

Oh My!

Tonight we had a potluck Thanksgiving Feast with Primrose. Nico was able to see his teachers and his classmates outside of the classroom which must have been enlightening for him. I am 100% sure that Nico likes his school and teachers. I know this because as we were walking up the middle school, where the event was being held, Nico ran straight into the arms of Mrs. Couth. She has worked her way up on his favorite people list; and so has Farrah. Oh goodness...apparently, Nico is smitten with little Farrah. A couple of weeks ago Mrs. Couth told me that Nico seems to find a little girl in the class named Farrah pretty. He follows her around, touches her hair and likes to sit by her! What?! This is not supposed to happen....especially before being 2 years old! We also were told tonight, that Nico likes the ladies...and the puppets; thank goodness for the puppets. Tonight, Nico found Farrah amongst all the people and we were able to snap some pictures of my little love bug with his girl.

Part of the evening consisted of the PK and Kinder students putting on a seasonal show for the parents. It is hard to believe that Nico will be doing that next year! He enjoyed watching the other kids and applauded with the crowd at the end of act. So precious!

More Cuteness in Action

I was rummaging through recent video clips that we have taken of Nico and I thought I would share a couple cute ones from two weeks ago.

The first video is after one of Ed's half marathon races. We were waiting around for the awards and Nico took off dancing to some Latin music that was being played!

This second video is in the car on the way home from school. Gigi was in for the weekend and Nico-man was in a very excitable mood due to her arrival.

Bom Bob SquarePants

Thanks to Gigi Nico is now quite fond of SpongeBob. I have been meaning to catch on video, what has to be the cutest interpretation of the Sponge Bob theme song. Here Nico is singing away to "Bom Bob" SquarePants.

Trick-or-Treat!

What fun we had taking Nico trick-or-treating this year! Last year, he and Matthew just sat in the double stroller as we pushed them around the neighborhood, but this year Nico anxiously went up to each door so he could "knock, knock, knock." It was precious.

Dressed as Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger, Nico made his first stop at Auntie Lisa's house for some goodies! Unlike any other stop, we left there not only with candy, but some future Christmas presents for the little man!

Part of me thought Nico was going to be turned off from the scary masks and strange things walking up and down the streets; however, he proved me wrong. Nico was not scared at all, but instead quite intrigued by all pretty princesses, pirates, and skeletons. What lucky parents we are to have such a wonderfully fun and super kid...not to mention unbelievably cute!
