Texas Summer Trip Part 1

For the first half of June the kids and I took a nice 2 week long trip to Texas!   We had such a fabulous time in both Houston and Harlingen, visiting Gigi and then Pops.   First we flew into Houston, spent four days there before heading further south.

The kids did great on the plane!  We had a very early flight, which seems to be most conducive for us and our schedule. Natalee was not cranky during the flight, just a little fidgety, but she was certainly tired once we landed.

One of our first stops after arriving was JC Penny's....where hit the Disney area and Natalee of course wanted a pretty dress!  My pretty girl certainly likes her pretty dresses...I can't imagine where she got that.

We spent one day shopping, eating and seeing a movie at the Katy Mills Mall.  We had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe, where Nico has been before, but Natalee has no recollection of being there before. She was in amazement of the swinging gorillas, trumpeting elephants, and growling tigers!  Luckily we got there so early that we were able to sit right up next to one of the robotic elephants.

Yay, for Gigi being prepared and having her sprinklers ready for Nico to play and cool off!!

Despite the heat, we decided to visit the Houston Zoo, which was so fun!  I always forget how big and fun the zoo is there.

Before heading to Pops' house, Gigi, the kids and I went to an Astros game!  It was a blast rooting for my home team with my own kids in tow.  I have so many memories going to Stro games and was excited to share the experience with them.
