NRH2O Day

We had a family day at NRH2O Water Park this week.  Ed and I took Nico there when he was just 17 months old and since it had been a while, we decided to go make a splash again.  Nico, being a bit of a nervous-nelly when it comes to swimming pools, had a great time wading around in the splash pad area and building in the sand the most.  We did convince him to go down the lazy river at the water park by sharing a tube with me and after having gone around the "river" once he asked to go on it again and again.  Nico also enjoyed the challenge of playing a few games such as the "balancing nets and lily pads," did some floating in the wave pool with Daddy, and went down some of the smaller sized water slides.

Natalee seemed somewhat enthralled with the water and loved sticking her hand in cool water while sitting in her Bumbo chair.  We intently watched her hand as it moved around in the water, loved feeling the breeze on her and watched Nico as closely as she could.

After some fun, hard playing in the water and sun, we sat to eat the lunch we packed.  Strangely Nico sat down in his lounge chair and stayed there and he did not talk much....this is not the normal energizer bunny Nico we know.  He said he didn't feel well and that his tummy was hurting a little; however the hurting tummy did not last long and he was off to play again.  Little did we know that our little man was actually feeling pretty run down. Once we got home, Nico had a fever of a 102 and was in desperate need of a nap.  Luckily, it was just a short 24 hour bug because the fever came and went and Nico is back to his same old full energized 3 year old self!

"Oh, what is this?  I like this cold stuff!"

Challenge: The Balancing Nets and Lily Pads!
Hold on Nico!
Coming across...doing a great job Buddy!
Splash!
Nico and this little girl went down the slide together.
Enjoying the breeze.

End of the day...Nico floating on his Daddy in the wave pool.
First attempt in a baby pool float.  She was not sure what to think of this.
