Dinosaur State Valley Park
Over Easter weekend our family was invited to join our new friends, the Gills, to explore the Glen Rose Dinosaur State Valley Park. We arrived after an hour an half drive with a packed lunch, beautiful weather and ready for some fun! We were able to hike and climb in different areas of the park (yes, even with two strollers in tow between the two families) and could see fossils of dinosaur tracks. At one track stop we had to cross over the Paluxy River by foot in order to see any tracks. This was slightly tricky when crossing with a three year old and trying hard not to slip on the rocks. The Daddies were the first to go across with Nico and his friend Daniel while Annette and I stayed back with the babies. Then it was our turn and we set out with the little boys to cross the river. We enjoyed time with our new friends and spending time outside before the extreme heat sets in here in North Texas. The park was really a haven for three year old boys with all the sticks and rocks that one boys could ever want or need! Nico and Daniel had so much fun that as soon as we began the journey back home they were out like lights.
Thank goodness there was some actual dinosaurs to see before we left the park! These were life size dinos for the kids to run around. Nico thought these were pretty cool and gave him some perspective on how big these monsters really were.
The end of the day....Nico sleeping, and Natalee crying! What a day!
