Soccer Game #3

Last Saturday was Nico's 3rd soccer game, but it was the 4th scheduled game. The 3rd scheduled game was rained out.  This particular game ended up falling on the first cold day of the season and we could feel the cold front coming in the evening before at soccer practice. The wind picked up quite a bit and during the game it was 50 degrees out. Timing is everything, and the individual and team pictures were that morning before the game which meant Nico being outside in the cold for a bit longer.  Daddy had just gotten home the night before and was the one who took Nico to the game while Natalee and I stayed at home in the nice warm house.

Daddy said that when Nico wasn't playing, despite having a coat and having two shirts on, he was holding the little man to keep him warm.  Nico had another chance to play goalie, which he loves doing, and Daddy helped out Nico by standing next to the net while Nico was there to direct him and how to play this position. Thanks to Daddy's help, Nico was able to keep the other team from scoring during his time of being the goalie. Daddy also told me that during the game Nico fell down a couple of times, but after a quick spit from Daddy on the knee (yes, you read the right), Nico was able to get back out in the game. Overall, it sounds like it was a good game...I was sad to miss a game, but glad to have been able to keep Natalee from being in the cold and from missing her morning nap.

Here are some pictures the Daddy took of Nico during the game:

Poor Baby!  You can tell how cold he is.

I love this kid so much!  How aweosme is this picture!?
