Las Vegas Day 1

I know, I am seriously a terrible blogger now.  I am going to try really hard to blog quite a bit in the day or so to catch up as much as I can.

So in the middle of July, our family flew from DC to Las Vegas for Amber's (aka Big Sis) wedding and for a mini family vacation.  It was a rough start....we scheduled a later in the day flight hoping that the kids would sleep through it.  Well, they proved us wrong, especially Natalee.  So after the flight was already delayed by 2 hours, Natalee was extremely tired.  So cried and cried and screamed almost the entire flight to DFW.  It was not fun.  We thought we would be missing our connection flight from DFW to Vegas, but luckily, that flight was delayed as well.  By the time we got our bags, rented the car and found our way to the hotel, it was 2 am PST, which made it 5 am EST.  We were a little tired to say the least.

After some food and sleep we all felt much better!  The best part about the day was that we were able to meet up with Gigi, Uncle Jason and Kaori!  Jason and Kaori live in Vegas so Gigi flew in a couple of days before us and was able to join us for the next few days!  The kids couldn't have been more happy to be with their Gigi.  After this sweet reunion, we headed to the Air Force Base in Vegas where the Thunderbirds are stationed.  We had a first rate tour through the Thunderbird museum and the hanger since Ed is a former Thunderbird.

After doing the Thunderbird thing and Natalee taking a bit of nap, we headed to the strip for a quick meet up with Amber and Jeremy!  We had some lunch and did a little walking around the strip. It certainly was hot and so we just walked down from Cesar's Palace where we had met up with Big Sis down to Treasure Island so Nico could see the pirate ship.  Finally after settling back down in the hotel, Ed and I went back out to the strip to have a drink with Amber while Gigi watched the kids. It was very nice having some adult time because this is something we do not get very often anymore.
